The Core Entity is an entity living in the Core of the Raft Nebula.
The crew on the Bridge encountered this entity during its travel to the Bridge Nebula. The entity sensed the presence of a supply machine on the Bridge, which contained a miniature black hole. Recognizing it as food, gravitic material, the entity extended out of the Core as a whirlpool, in an attempt to consume the Bridge. The Bridge was successful in removing the supply machine from the ship, but one of a Belt miner, Roch, was lost in the process. When the supply machine left the Bridge, the machine was captured by the entity - the entity did not interfere with the Bridge's journey any further.
